10 things we love about Sydney- Part 2

  1. Come summer or winter, Sydney has events lined up for everyone! We can enjoy a concert/celebration of colours/ movie night under the sky in summers and Vivid Sydney light and sound show with fireworks and music at the darling harbour/opera house/city in the winters!
  2. There are unlimited camping options around and within Sydney. How about camping next to a zoo, in a historic island in the middle of the harbour, by the white sand beach with occasional visits of Kangaroos & possums, inside a national park? Yes, you can enjoy all this and more, just take your camping gear and go.
  3. Sydney has its very own Lesbian Mardi Gras and Gay celebration, with an interesting line of events to wow anyone, no matter their tribe.
  4. While people in other cities of the world may just drive to work or town, Sydneysiders have a range of options from trains, ferries, water taxis, buses, free bus shuttles ( for CBD only), You will never feel the urge to take your car out, with so many means of transportation around you. Now that’s a sign of a successful and sustainable city according to us.
  5. Drive 90 min north of Sydney, and explore a destination that is a perfect juxtaposition of beach and desert sand! Yes, Anna Bay in Port Stephens boasts of sand boarding and surfing, all in one spot. Now that a good deal!
  6. We love the fact that there are so many walks within the city to keep us active on a nice sunny day! Try Bondi to Coogee, Manly to Spit Bridge, Seven bridges walk or Watsons Bay walk.
  7. If you want to spend a quiet day with family or picnic with friends without going too far from the city, take your picnic basket and head to Centennial Park, Royal Botanical Gardens or Hyde Park.
  8. For those who want to experience Sydney in all new way, why not try the breathtaking helicopter ride which takes you over the beaches, Opera house, the harbour etc. or climb the harbour bridge.
  9. If you love exploring cities by foot, Sydney provides you with the best sights and is very walker friendly. Try walking from Central Station to Circular quay or around “The Rocks”. You will love it!
  10. Sydneysiders know that they are just a 3 hours’ drive from the whitest sand beach in the world, Hyams Beach(Jervis Bay) where they can enjoy camping, go for dolphin tour, explore secluded bays or cycle around the town!

I am a former Architect who left her career to follow her heart and passion, which involves travelling, photography and Social media marketing. I have stayed in a rustic village of Eastern Himalayas, swum with colorful fishes and corals in Fiji, lived with gypsy Banni villagers in Western India, interacted with Kenya’s Masai tribe, river rafted in the freezing cold river in Ladakh, lived and explored a quaint beach town of Tanga in Tanzania, took a 48 hour camel safari in the Thar desert of Rajasthan, sailed on a felucca on the mighty Nile river in Egypt and chilled with the Kangaroo’s in Australia. Needless to say I am always adding more experiences and places to the list.
